Christopher Rodriguez
© Christopher Rodriguez Ocean 2009
Christopher Rodriguez describes the impetus for his work as 'tracing a
sense of impending doom alongside a glimmer of hope--and make the
imperceptible more tangible.' Indeed, Rodriguez's photographs often feature a stormy sky and a highly distinctive atmosphere; challenging the notion of a photograph as simple document, this work is dreamlike and ethereal.
Christopher Rodriguez was born and raised in New Orleans and earned his B.Arch from Louisiana State University in 2005. In 2008 he received his MFA in Photography Video and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts, graduating with Charmain's Honors and an Alumni Scholarship Award. He currently teaches digital photography at Montclair State University and assists several artists in New York including James Casebere and Dean Kaufman. He lives in Brooklyn.
